About me

Hey there!
I’m Tony
I’m not Irish but I consider myself to be very lucky. My wife is my best friend, and we enjoy our North Carolina life (we moved here from New England three years ago). The kids are happy and healthy and our two greyhounds (they are from Ireland) keep the laughter going with their antics. And, believe it or not, we are frequently visited by a turkey vulture we have named Kevin. He (or she, we don't know) is so cool. My active life includes going to the beach (especially bodysurfing) and playing soccer in the Wilmington Adult Soccer league where I'm an aging center midfielder.

Fantastic Four
At the risk of boring you to tears, here are four ways I find joy in this amazing world we live in:

The music of Prince (RIP). I've been a fan as long as I can remember and have every CD. His catalog is so extensive there's always something I haven't listened to for some time. And every once in a while I encounter another Prince fan and enjoy debating which of his albums and songs are the best (you'd be amazed how different these lists end up being).

Chelsea soccer. I must confess I only root for Chelsea because Christian Pulisic (go USA!) plays for them. But world football is the best sport. The Premier League games have great energy and the skill of the today’s players is off the charts. Then there's the FA cup and the crown jewel... the Champions League. It's all so good! And it’s usually on TV in the morning due to the time difference; so it doesn’t eat into my outdoor time on the weekends.

Formula One racing. I've been watching F1 for a long time now and love the purity of the competition. Ten teams each designing and building two cars from scratch every year, using wing tunnels and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software to optimize their aerodynamics and try to pull away from the pack. The races aren't always great but when they are there is nothing like it.

The Movies. I've always loved going to the movies. I've missed it the last few years. Two of my all time favorites are Amadeus (stunning in every way) and Before Sunrise (love the whole trilogy). Two more recent favorites are Arrival (I cry at the end every time) and Midnight in Paris (the Hemingway character steals every scene).

You are kind to have made it this far!

I love hearing from interesting people, so...
